George stays on the road to Wimbledon after Bridgnorth victory
George Scott won the Under-14 Road to Wimbledon tournament at Bridgnorth Tennis Club, beating Joe Dainty in the final.
George, aged 12 and from Much Wenlock, now qualifies for the Shropshire county finals to be held at The Shrewsbury Club in July.
The winner of this event will progress to compete on the world famous grass courts at Wimbledon.
Meanwhile, Bridgnorth Tennis Club are to hold a course of Rusty Rackets sessions.
It’s the perfect way to get back into tennis after a prolonged absence while it is also ideal if you are less experienced and perhaps also new to tennis.
The sessions, priced £5, will take place on three Wednesday evenings - June 12, 19 and 26 - between 7.30-9pm.
You can turn up on the night to take part or contact [email protected] for more information.
