Shropshire’s Rob Rue reaches men’s doubles final at ITF Scottish Open

Shropshire's Rob Rue was not quite able to emulate his ITF 65+ men's doubles victory with Lancashire's Mike Webster at Gerrards Cross in 2021 at the recent ITF Scottish Open tournament in Glasgow.

Rob and Mike again managed to progress through to the final, but this time they were defeated 6-4, 7-5 by Scottish pair Ian Murdie and William Clarke.

Rob played with a number of different doubles partners in 2021 and, as well as his victory with Mike at Gerrards Cross, he also won ITF men's doubles titles at Felixstowe with Alan Rayner (Essex) and at Newmarket with Eddie Green (Bahamas).

Rob and Mike are now looking forward to playing together in the British Open Seniors tournament at Wrexham later this month.
