Volunteers needed for the Shrewsbury W60 World Tour Women's Competition
The event will run from 11th February – 16th February 2019 at The Shrewsbury Club and will be straight after the Fed Cup event in Bath. We expect to attract the majority of the British players and players from the world’s top 100 too. We are going to be putting on a series of hospitality events and we will be sending out details of those early in January when tickets will become available online.
In order to keep such a high profile event in Shropshire and not lose it to the bigger towns and cities who traditionally have hosted such events we need to make sure that we have lots of spectators so please can you encourage all your Club members to come along and visit the event. Tickets are free for the qualifying and first two rounds but there will be a charge for tickets from the quarte-final stage and we will have proper stadium seating.
We are also needing some volunteers to make the event run smoothly and this will be a great opportunity for you to get to meet and know some of the leading players as well as be part of the “gamesmakers” who will make the event happen.
You don’t need any previous tennis or volunteering experience to be involved, but bags of enthusiasm and a passion for helping others is a must and we wonder if you’d like to be involved!
It’s really important to us that our volunteers have lots of fun too, which is why you'll get involved in all that is going on, meet lots of new people and watch some world-class tennis. Event apparel, food & refreshments and a tournament ticket pass enabling you to watch tennis for the whole week free of charge (providing you volunteer for a minimum of three sessions)
Our volunteer team will play a pivotal role as the public face of the event, ensuring that all fans have a positive and safe experience. The roles include Court Steward, Welcome & Player Accreditation Desk and Event Drivers. In terms of what's in it for you! You'll get Event-branded uniform, a daily food allowance, plus free refreshments and you'll get to watch some world-class tennis and be at the heart of a major tennis event in Shropshire (Please note we do not provide expenses for travel or accommodation.) You'll need to be aged 16 or older at the time of the event.
